Some would say that experience is the best teacher. I would venture to say that it is the only teacher there is. Reading about something in a book (or a blog for that matter) is superficial knowledge at best. It’s not until you sit down and hit record, only to have your ears blown out by feedback, that you begin to truly appreciate and know Signal Flow.
As a working musician, I can confidently say that I’ve learned more from my mistakes than my successes. It’s this process of trial and error that’s been the most fruitful, and gotten me to where I am today (which is sitting in front of a computer, pressing record, and not getting my ears blown out by feedback).
This blog will hopefully become a sharing of experiences that will allow us all to learn a little bit from one another. We all encounter obstacles, enjoy successes, screw things up, and work until the sun rises, but at least we’ll know that we’re not alone on the journey
